Day 2-5
Nairobi, Kenya
Welcome to Nairobi, Kenya! Here you will spend 2 nights to unwind and explore before joining your tour!
Nairobi is a city that just grabs you from the get-go! It’s not just a destination; it’s an experience. From the hustle and bustle of its vibrant markets to the tranquillity of its green spaces, Nairobi has this energy that’s infectious. Plus, with its rich culture, fascinating history, and endless adventures, there’s something for everyone to discover and enjoy. It’s like stepping into a whole new world, and we couldn’t wait to share that with our travellers.
Day 5-7
Samburu Game Reserve, Kenya
The adventure begins with your first safari drive which takes you to Samburu, a haven for large herds of elephants attracted by the allure of water. Renowned for its unique biodiversity, Samburu is one of the prime spots to encounter several endemic Northern species, such as the reticulated giraffe, the Somali ostrich, and Grevy’s zebra. Delve into the captivating Samburu culture, which shares profound ancestral and linguistic connections with the Maasai, adding an enriching layer to your safari experience.
Day 7-8
Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya
Today, you set off for Lake Nakuru National Park, with a quick stop at the Thompson Falls for a breathtaking view of the stunning scenery. This park ranks among the finest for game viewing, boasting diverse animal species such as prides of lions, Cape buffalo, waterbucks, warthogs, the endangered Rothschild giraffe, the black and white rhino, the Burchell’s zebra, impalas, and the elusive leopard, among many others. With over 300 bird species recorded here, Lake Nakuru National Park is also renowned as one of the top spots to observe the endangered black and white rhinoceros.
Day 8-11
Masai Mara game Reserve, Kenya
Welcome to the stunning Masai Mara! Immerse yourself in the rich culture of this world-renowned community by visiting a traditional Maasai Village. The Maasai continue to uphold their centuries-old way of life, offering you the chance to interact with these nomadic people and gain insight into their customs and traditions. Embark on numerous game drives, providing ample opportunities to encounter more of the ‘Big Five’ that the Masai Mara is renowned for, including the lion, savanna (African) elephant, Cape buffalo, leopard, and black rhino.
Day 11-12
Mahe Island, Seychelles
Say goodbye to your Guide this morning before your included flight back to Nairobi. This afternoon, indulge in a visit to the Giraffe Centre followed by a tour of the Karen Blixen Museum. Treat yourself to an early dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant before transferring to the airport for your included flight to the Seychelles.
Your tropical cruise commences on Mahé island, where you’ll be transferred to your luxurious yacht with Emerald Cruises and set sail on your exploration of the Seychelles. In the afternoon, we cruise to Sainte Anne Channel.
Day 12-13
Sainte Anne Channel - Cousin Island - Praslin Island
Sainte Anne Island is surrounded by a Marine National Park, boasting an array of marine life, including over 150 species of fish. It has also become a significant nesting site for Hawksbill turtles.
In the late morning, we set sail for Cousin, a small island renowned as a sanctuary for seabirds. This granitic islet was privately owned until 1968 when it was acquired by the International Council for Bird Preservation to establish it as a nature reserve. It stands as the most protected island in the archipelago, serving as a breeding ground for eleven seabird species annually and providing a habitat for five birds indigenous to the Seychelles. Our overnight stay will be in Praslin.
Day 14
Praslin Island
Praslin, the second largest island in the Seychelles, is a sight to behold, with its breathtaking tropical jungle-fringed beaches, emerald waters, and powdery sand. Anse Lazio beach has repeatedly been voted one of the world’s best, and just offshore lies a dazzling reef teeming with coral and marine life. On land, coconut palms and granite boulders adorn the landscape, creating a picturesque scene straight out of a postcard. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve nestled in the heart of the island for a truly unforgettable experience.
Day 15
Praslin Island - La Digue Island - Curieuse Island
In the early morning, we set sail for La Digue Island, the smallest of the three inhabited islands in the Seychelles. Similar to Praslin Island, it boasts world-renowned beaches, with one of the most iconic being Anse Source d’Argent. Here, pink-hued sands stand in contrast to granite boulders and aquamarine waters. Later in the evening, we’ll make our way to Curieuse.
Day 16
Curieuse Island
Curieuse is a rugged island cloaked in pristine wilderness and inhabited by hundreds of resident Aldabra giant tortoises. In addition to its undeniable natural allure, it boasts a captivating history. Once serving as a quarantine station, the original French colonial doctor’s house now houses a museum and visitor centre for exploration.
Day 17
Cruieuse Island - Aride Island
In the early morning, we embark on a journey to Aride, a nature reserve nestled in the Indian Ocean. Renowned among nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers alike, this island is home to over thirty rare bird species, which thrive amidst the lush vegetation. The landscape is captivating, featuring fine-sand beaches, coconut palms, and towering cliffs.
Day 18-23
Mahe Island, Seychelles
Welcome to your final port of call with Emerald Cruises – after spending your final night here with Emerald your journey doesn’t end here. Next you will spend 4 nights at the stunning Club Med Resort – a luxurious resort nestled on the pristine shores of Sainte Anne Island in the Seychelles archipelago.
