This trip was taken at Christmas by some guests of ours wanting to discover the WW2 history if Northern France and the countryside and wines of Loire Valley and Lyon to Beaune. It gives you the freedom to explore yourself with a car and a route that allows for enough stopovers to break the journeys but with the distances to see as much as possible. We use a variety of accommodation options in this itinerary, from old convents, to chateaux and hotels built through the ages. It is designed with the character of a hotel stay in mind and each one offers something unique.
With London being an entry point and Paris being the exit, it is easy to extend this trip either before and after. You can catch a flight, a train or a river cruise plus coach tour, depending upon the time of year.
If you have the time, why not include Bordeaux as well or head down from Beaune to southern France to explore Nice, Marseilles and the beautiful coastal towns that visitors flock to every year.
Either way, in 3 weeks, this trip will be a fantastic way to discover all that is France.
